My Life As A Scooter

  • What do scooters do when they are not being ridden.....

Are scooters attracted to other scooters?  Do the stylish lines of another scooter interest me?  Will my owner always want me or decide to trade me in on something else that's more stylish, impressive, sportier, younger, likes the colour red...

Anyway....These are some of the things that go through my head when i'm not out on the road.

My downtimes are spent in a garage - it's a communal space filled with bits and pieces of other peoples stuff.  It's not a fantastic spot - (sure I have a view out the window, but its a view of a boring carpark).  There is also a car in there, some pushbikes, a boat, tools, and other peoples junk.

The car I mentioned sits way too close to me and I worry that it is going to bump into me AGAIN one day.......(you do it again Darryl and scratch my new panels and there will be trouble.......)

.........now where was I.....that's right....in my garage with my own thoughts, contemplating my next trip out on the open road.

Thankfully I got out a lot last weekend.  After the trip up to ScooterHQ, I was out and about Saturday afternoon and then again we went for a 4 hour ride on Monday afternoon.......

Here I am in the Seaworld carpark  (not much of a view for me with that sand in the way.....)

And here we are at Point Danger

So that was my weekend.....great weather, plenty of open road, and not a care in the world.....

Is there anything better in life than being a Scooter?

    until next time,

    seeya,

    Monaco.

  • All Shiny and New Again

Today I got my new panels…(which have replaced the damaged ones from my off-road episode a while back...) but more on that soon...

I neglected to mention in my first post that I’m just over a year old. I was born in a Chinese factory, travelled to Australia as a new-born and after a brief time on the Gold Coast was transported down to NSW to take up residency with my owner Anthony.

In the year that we have been together we have been through a lot…...most notably the time that the useless son of a #@&$%  couldn’t even make a right hand turn properly…….(now he will start telling me that I complain too much……)

And so a quick recap on how I ended up looking less than glamorous……One day we were out riding and he suddenly decides that he doesn’t want to ride on the bitumen ……(note: his excuse was that he ran a little bit wide on a bad corner, caught some gravel on the edge of the road and couldn’t pull up in time to slow me down)…....in his defence, the road surface that he took me on was CRAP!!! And the corner we tried to negotiate was tight, bumpy, off camber, and basically not worth riding on…..(so for now his story checks out)……but despite that let it be known that HE BINNED ME ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD !!!!!…..(he then started complaining about injuries, whinging about having to go to hospital, blah blah blah…..but I ended up feeling bad too…..I got plenty of scratches, bits of me were bent/broken….and I was basically not feeling or looking as good as I did before he decided to unleash his inner Chad Reed………..so anyway, after he picked himself (and me) up, we took a break to assess the damage, make a phone call and ask for help…..and he went to hospital, and put me in a garage for a few days…….(let it be known that I was in pain too…sure he rode 12 km with a busted shoulder and a hole in his foot….(and possibly cried like a girl the whole time….)

But after all that unpleasantness I’m now as good as I was the day I arrived. Here are some before and after photos of my transformation today (CAUTION: 1st shot contains full frontal scooter nudity)

And so now I think I’m ready to forgive him for my up close and personal introduction to the evils of gravel…..

I’m all shiny and new again, and ready to take on the world……

    Seeya all soon,

    Monaco.

  • My Owner....

Dakoda from Brisbane has asked about my owner, does he appreciate, love and take care of me etc.... I would have to say that yes - the majority of the time he does...... (there have been some incidents that i'm still working through - more about that soon.....)

anyway, you'll hear more about him and the adventures we get up to.....

    Seeya all soon,

    Monaco.

  • A Little about me….

Howdy everyone,  I’m a black Vmoto Monaco 125cc scooter and my task here will be to give you an idea of what life as a scooter involves.

It’s not always glamorous….it’s not always fun….in fact, at times it has been painful and boring…..but thankfully those times are rare.    A lot of my days are spent sitting and waiting…..waiting for the moment when I get to go out on the black stuff and feel the wind in my plastic bits and do what I was built to do…. Which is   a) provide an economical and environmentally friendly transport solution, b) get noticed because I look so good…. And... c) prove to the world that scooters are a legitimate form of two wheeled transportation that are just as important and attractive as Harleys and high powered sports bikes.  As Brendon from ScooterHQ often says... "MILK COMES IN TWO LITRES"….just because 125cc is less than 2000cc doesn’t mean that I’m any less important!!  Ok…calming down now…..1, 2, 3, 4, ……. I’M A SCOOTER AND PROUD OF IT!

Tomorrow I’m off to get some new parts fitted (purely cosmetic stuff...not go fast bits at the moment...)

so stay tuned for more BP Ultimate induced stories........this is Monaco, seeya soon.....
