• the weather is getting cooler....

  Hi all.   Has anyone else noticed that it's getting a bit cooler lately?  It was particularly evident on Monday afternoon when we left Grafton to head back toYamba .  The sun was lower, the shadows were longer and the temperature was definitely moving further south.  But the biggest problem with riding home on Monday and Tuesday was the bugs...lots and lots of bugs!  Anthony's visor, jacket, and backpack were pelted with hundreds of the little buggers, and they were also splattered all across the front of me.  I was covered in a sea of green and yellow muck! But despite that, this weeks riding has been great fun, the morning rides to work have been sunny and have given us a chance to get out and enjoy the road......something that we also did last  Saturday afternoon.   We headed out of town and took the long stretch down Middle Road, out to North Bank Road at Palmers Island, then back out onto the main road, before heading onto the highway towards Grafton, and took the Maclean exit at Ferry Park.....which looks something like this. And then after getting to Maclean, we headed out to Brooms Head......which looks something like this... The road out to Broom includes some awesome long flowing corners which are connected by long straight bits (which gave us a chance to open up the throttle and go for it) It was a great ride, and as the sun started going down, we headed back to Yamba, (in the reverse direction) and had a great time.  It was approximately 100 km and a great way to spend a saturday afternoon. • The sun is out....riding just got more fun.

  Early last week we had our first fully dry (and sunny) day...the first one in about 18 days.  It was so good to get out and about without having to worry about water on the road or about getting wet, or slippery roads, or anything like that.   The ride to work is always fun, but to have perfect conditions makes it better. Sadly there were still idiots on the road, such as the nutter in the BMW X5 who pulled out in front of us near the shopping centre when we were on our way home.  But despite that, it was great to get out and the conditions continued for the rest of the week.  Yesterday I had a good clean and now I'm all nice and shiny and ready for the week ahead. This week we begin our new routine and have two long riding days, two short riding days and one 5 minute commute to office number 3.  I'm loving the daily ride and look forward to it each day. One ride that I'm looking forward to going on soon, starts from home in Yamba and then heads out to Maclean, before completing a circuit out to the small town of Brushgrove, and then back to Maclean. • Where did the sun go?

  Howdy all, it's been really wet and windy week this week, and so for my first week as Anthony's work transportation, it wasn't a good start.  I actually stayed home on Monday and Tuesday...Anthony has his longest trip those days, and the intensity of the wind and rain (plus the fact he was suffering from a head cold) made him decide to take the car.  Leaning into the wind at a 45 degree angle just to stay upright isn't fun, and as he wasn't feeling 100% I also didn't want him to do the 120km round trip when he wasn't at his best. But since Wednesday we've been riding each day and it's been great.   Our Wednesday to Friday trips involve the 100km zone out of town, (with a few nice corners along the way) and then some 80km and 50km zones.  But for Monday and Tuesday it's a longer trip down the highway, and I'm really looking forward to that. She has starred in films such as Girlfight, The Fast & The Furious, S.W.A.T, and the TV Series "LOST". She's a fan of in-line skating, had to get her driver's license before playing the role of "Letty" in The Fast & The Furious and will be starring in the sequel this year. She plays the piano, dropped out of high school at 17, but she went back and graduated later.  She's know for her tough-girl roles, and spent some time in the big house, and was released after only 18 days due to overcrowding!  She is Michelle Rodriguez.
