    Derestrict

    Kitaco variator

rollers (all illegal, likely to void your warranty & shorten the life of the scooter)

    or

upgrade & buy a bigger scooter.

I rode & loved riding my Today 50 in baby blue for the 6 months I had it but the bike just doesn't feel like it has much more to give. Best to invest your money more wisely & upgrade to a bigger capacity scooter. The young guy who told me about the variator in particular mentioned that he managed 70kmph from his Today with the variator however the speedo on the scooter definitely isn't the most accurate so he was probably managing 60?

    Fully derestrict for starters.

Is the variator itself a restriction? If not then wouldn't a better exhaust be the best way to improve performance?

The Today 50's just won't rev with the stock CDI. Most CDI's are a small unit with one little plug and a few wires, the Honda CDI is a big unit with many wires. Looks like it's out of the space shuttle. As a result, it won't get over 49kph, downhill with a tailwind. The Ignition is so unbelievably restrictive, and I've not been able to find any info on replacements CDI's or which (if any) wire/s to cut... The Today fifty is a tough nut to crack..

You are either not trying very hard or not very good at using a search engine...

The Today 50 runs an AF61 motor. All sorts of go fast bits are available for it including a derestricted CDI.

You probably would get this kit cheaper from either Taiwan or Japan but not always easy to communicate with Asian suppliers not accustomed to shipping small orders to Aus. So get one from NZ for $338NZD.

Sell it and buy a scooter with the performance you want.
