I can only imagine that this Giannelli exhaust is good.

But is it $700 worth of good?

    That is what I'm wondering...

Not as a performance upgrade. As a sound/aesthetic upgrade maybe. If you want more performance cheap go for variator mods.

Adam (& Mike if you read this),

I have found a youtube clip where a Gilera Nexus has a Giannelli exhaust installed. Seems very nice! Is this what yours looks & sounds like?

Hmm, Obviously due to the vagaries (?) of computer speakers it is hard to be sure we are all hearing the same thing. Looks, yes that is the same. Sound. I dont think that is as aggressive/loud. Maybe more like this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOPfkVlEpqI&NR=1 but of course it depends on the speakers. Also this is alot higher revs than the first video I would imagine. You can catch the type of sound (but not volume)  during full throttle take off on this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ub_etVgU4aI but only from 0-20 before the road noise kicks in. Mike could well disagree with me though as this is obviously very subjective!

I think they sound great, and if that is what you are looking for I don't think you will be let down. Also, if you read                                        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7J5R4oAcseQ&NR=1 the text that goes with this, at the top right and click on read more. It seems that if you combined the exhaust with some airbox mods (super cheap to do, or even free) you could pick up a bit of power too?

    Adam,

I thought the clip I shared was loud. Bloody hell! That one you linked to (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOPfkVlEpqI&NR=1) is just something else...You must frighten a lot of pedestrians if yours is anything like that!

I also tried listening to your own clip but the road/wind sounds made it difficult to hear clearly. By the way, that second attempt you really seem to have done it in 5 secs. Do you really need the Mana? (Just joking with you -- get anything you want!)

I think if you combine those sounds hopefully that will give you a good feel for how it sounds. If you like those kinds of sounds then you will like the exhaust. The sounds is like stock but louder and a bit harder edged. I do think the loudest one is probably a little load. Bunnybash has heard mine, and he might be able to give an opinion in a few days when he gets back. I have a pod on mine, and none of the normal intake. I think that makes it a little louder too.

Of course, in my mind it sounds just like this, only with bigger flames!

    Too cool, Adam !

Are you now entirely finished with modifying your Scarabeo?

ColdCola, similar to adamtassell's post, the quality of the youtube sound and a computer's inbuilt speakers don't do justice to the original sounds.  Both of the soundclips don't really capture the essence of the "low rumble".  It's like early recordings of  drummers sounding as if they were hitting a wooden plank rather than a rich base sound.  Even some of the early beatles' recordings with ringo at the drums, sound like he is hitting a piece of wood.  It wasn't till "drum machines" brought in the associated recording technology that recorded drums started to sound rich and varied.  Will still investigate trying to get an MP3 of Big Red Audrey's new note, but don't hold your breath.

    ciao,   Mike

OK, Mike...I won't hold my breath, but if you do manage to put a sound file of it on this site I would very much like to hear it !

    Enjoy your riding.

Sorry for the long delay, but here are two photos of the Giannelli exhaust:

This is a small MP3 file recorded with a digital camera.  It's a bit on the tinny side, but hopefully gives some idea of the sound.

I just got the muffler and bolted it straight onto the existing pipe with new clamps.  I also removed the small "plug" from the end of the muffler as this causes quite an amount of restriction, reducing power.
