Yesterday we stripped the fairing off mine to do the dual headlight conversion that Id seen on the Majesty site. It was an interesting exercise removing the front cowling, a bit overwhelming at first but with the help of the manual and Tonys system of putting all the screws in seperate containers for each step we got it apart. First remove the mirrors

One naked TMAX

The masterpiece was Tony finding a female fitting that fitted onto the back of the H4 bulb. He cut the old two pin fitting off and spliced the three pin fitting on. This eliminated the need for the Americans piggy back system. I also inserted a 50+ dual filament H4 bulb in the RH light which is 50% brighter than a normal bulb.

This is the prototype wiring rig that we set up. We are thinking of putting a switch into the system to give the pre mod one light option for daytime riding.

It was an excellent de mysterfying exercise and now I know how to get inside the cowling. I was also able to find the loose bolt that had been rattling about in there. The cowling went back together like an air fix model and we didnt have any screws left over.

With this mod both lights run on low beam giving  much better lighting on the road at night.

 I WAS WONDERING WHERE THAT TOWEL GOT TO YOU GUYS!!!   Shoulda known to look out in the boys shed!! Hmmmm

All my scooters are out of warranty now so Im up for some mods. For the Tmax Ive been reading some threads on the J Costa variator which sounds like the way to go. I think Dr Chip has done his. Just starting to research now. 0-100k/h in 6sec. Also like the look of the sports windscreen.

The GTS will be getting Dr Pulley sliders next oil change.

Good to see another Tmax owner enjoying their machine. Mine's a blue 2006 model, that I bought new in 07. It's done 42K and I ride everday to/from work in all weather plus social rides. I had the drive belt replaced at 35K and will be getting my tyres replaced next service (45K-second set). It's been virtually trouble free in that time. It is interesting to note that the the cost of a new Tmax hasn't changed in 10 years (according to Glass' guide)

Pete an upgrade on the horns would not go astray something like airhorns to shift the 4 wheel brigade when they move in on you without looking.

You will not regret getting a J Costa. It will really really really wake your scooter up. In my experience this is by far the most effective mod on the 460cc master, and BFYB it cannot be beaten. I can only assume it will be at least as effective on the TMAX.
