Has any one had any any experience with the old style oilskin jackets? They used to be the go some years back. Are they warm and waterproof?

    Re: Oilskin Jackets

When it becomes really cold they become straight jackets as they get as stiff as a board .  The Burke & Wills biker jacket is as good as a Belstaff and made in Australia . They don't have any armour or back protector so don't compare with modern jackets in that respect but can be easily re waxed to make waterproof again . In winter wear with a jumper underneath it and its warm enough or get the sheepskin liner

Somebody needs to make a Harrington that is  a proper scooter jacket, complete with body armour, perhaps with kevlar lining to keep the outer shell the same.

I'd buy one, so there's one sale ;)

If I ever ended up looking like the guy on the maroon Vespa at the front, I'd be happy to dress like that in the hope of never being able to wear clothing like that again... It's so wrong, I barely know where to begin.
