    Bolwell Euro mx150 suspension

    Hello all,

Bought a 2006  Bolwell Euro mx150 which seems fine except with 2up riding. I'm a 100kg but my daughter is only 60.

The bike seems to be touching the frame or bottom half the time which obviously is not good. Has anyone changed or beefed up the

rear shock on these? I think it is the same as the Sym Aprlia 150, if someone would confirm that and any other compatible models for parts.

    Help appreciated!!!

probably not a good idea to load up single shock rear with 160kgs, Im 130kgs and my aerox had a single that was maxed, never bottomed though.

Downloaded a Sym Euro MX user Manual but the controls look different to the Bolwell.

All I found was 125kg net weight??? (Bike weight) I didn't think 160kg was too much for the tar. It carries us at a comfortable speed up and down

I think their just soft and I think theres no pretensioner on it from a parts blowout.

Hi SteveMx,I have the same scoot & have occasionally ridden 2 up with likely the same weight but it's only bottomed out on a really hard bump so perhaps your suspension is a little worn

I would probably measure up the old shock absorber for correct length and bolt size . then look for an equivalent that as pre load settings on it

I have had one of these for nearly 20 000kms, never bottomed mine out but only had about 120 kgs with me and the daughter. Great scooter and very reliable.

Enjoy the ride, maybe just needs a new shocky to fix this prob? How many Ks does it have?

Thanks for all that feedback fellas. I'm impressed with the response. It seems the spring maybe soft as its only got 6,000 on it or maybe there is some part of the frame grounding too early. Thought I'd get a few tips before I went digging. !!!!!

I have the same problem with my Euro Mx 150 and would also like a stronger rear shock.  Please let us know what you find.
