Not the highest quality pictures, but looks like a good deal! Mine was a bit dearer than that at 40,000, no drop, with rusty bits.

Think i have seen if advertised on ebay before but not %100 certain . IMHO If you are thinking to getting the body work professionally up to scratch then it may not be such a bargain at anything much above the starting price

Does this sound gooderer? It sounds pretty good to me. Should I ask him why he's selling, if it's been dropped, etc??

IE, Chrome, Firefox, Safari are browsers.

Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, WolframAlpha are search engines.

These distinctions are lost on most of today's end users.

Oh and as for the scooters...

Add the roadworthyness, rego and a top box to the red one and you're looking at say 3,700. And the hassle of getting them.

vs 5k for the yellow one in probably better nick, not much more miles.

I guess it depends on how skint you are.

This is assuming of course that both sellers are telling us everything. As you're interstate and probably wouldn't fly to try, yellow is more secure option in that sense, with the OCD record keeping. I haven't had service from Action but they are said to be middle-of-the-pack quality, highish price services.

Re: Vespa Folk - opinions pleae?

id want someone to ride the Qld one to see if it rides straight. You can see the paint job and the brake lever looks a little bent. Also the chrome bit on the front guard has gone. I dont know what that means. the yellow newtown vespa you can go and see or get some one to check it out for you. I reckon the price is about right. A Vespa with 30,000ks has still got plenty of lifeleft  in it.

Daelim NS 125: Mighty 1st scoot from Korea that punched way above its weight. Sold
Vespa GTS 250: Modern Retro brilliance. I'll ride it til it dies.Traded in on a maxi.
Suzuki DR650: "That Thing" Excellent Single 650 thumper chook chaser that was too tall. Sold
Yamaha T Max: Best Maxi out there and serious canyon racer. Sold
Triumph Bonneville: Modern Retro brilliance with the sweetest parallel twin.
BMW F800R: The Naked Hun. Great intro into sports bikes.
Gilera Runner FXR 180: 2 stroke scooter missile from Piaggio.
Gilera Nexus 500. Sexy like red Italian stilettos.
Yamaha RZ250RR: Retro Japanese 2 stroke racer.

Re: Vespa Folk - opinions pleae?

Thanks everyone. Yes, I agree I'd prefer to actually see and ride it first. I'm not much of a gambler.

I guess what I really need to do is let my euphoria at having just got my Ps, die down a bit so I don't make a foolish decision. Plus learn more about Vespas, too, so I can be more informed. Obviously I want to just race out and snap one up, which would be silly really. There will always be second hand bargains to be had, so I reckon I'll just slow down a bit and THINK! (Rare for me!). It'll also give me a chance to free up some $$$$ from the shares the lovely NRMA gave me quite a few years ago so I can buy what I want, when I want it.

Given these scooters are 5 - 7 years old, and between 25,000 - 78,000kms, and between $3,000 and $5,000.... would it just be more sensible to buy a new one for $8,000? Or are used Vespas generally relatively well cared for and maintained? Am I naive in thinking that most people who would buy a Vespa would have a vested interest in maintaining it properly?

So thanks for the advice and ideas, which I really do appreciate, but I think I'll stop racing at this and approach from a more slow and sane angle! Reckon a few test rides might be the go first.

Very sorry if I've messed anyone around... you know how it is I'm sure! Confused

where the larger Vespas are concerned I would suggest you completely make the impulsive leap & love it knowing that you just can't lose doing so!

Forget thoughtful research & concern. The larger Vespas are all about passion, practicality & that "OH YEAH!" feeling that you get riding the thing around. There's nothing like it... except maybe for a hideously expensive car. Cool

Lizzie I was looking at that red Vespa but it needed a grand of paintwork and another $500 on rego, then add $300 for shipping, go the 'Buttercup' Smile
