My girlfriend and I currently ride a matching red pair of Piagio Zip 50'S and are looking at upgrading to a matching pair of Maxi scooters 250cc or bigger with a budget of around 7K each.

we are looking for scooters that can travel on the freeway safely and sit on 100klm without sitting near redline

We originaly decided on the New Yamaha Majersty 400 but we didnt like the seat and the handlebars hit my legs when turning so we are looking for alternatives

The New Tmax 530 was more too our liking but they are out of our price range.

I have seen used 2008-2009 Tmax that are in our price range and come in a bright yellow colour rather than most of the new scooter that seem to be black,white or silver.

the local Suzuki Dealer didnt even return my phone call and was most unhelpful when i visited his shop.

Honda dont make a Maxi but the dealer sell's the Chineese  Jetmax 250 Scooter but i'm not sure about the build quality.

I have also seen the Downtown 300 and they have a few good reviews out on them.

We are in Perth WA

 Most of the big japanese Maxi's are priced above the 7k mark unless you are happy with 2nd hand.

Alot of people on here are very happy with the MaxSym 400's.  Another one to look at is the Aprillia SR300Max.  My budget didn't extend that far, but it was my maxi of choice and is at the top of my list when it's time to upgrade.    They are around $8k ride away but I'm sure that negotiable if you were to buy two from the same dealer.   I was offered one with 28km on the clock for $7k from Rick Gill's in Ozzy Park.

Simon, go to "Scooters and Buggies" in Wangara or Palmyra, and get your butt on a TGB XMotion 300i. $5000, excellent build quality and will happily sit on 110 km/hr.

I picked one up last week, and can't stop raving about it!

 Wonder what simonwa eventually bought as there is now the Honda Forza 300 to put into the equation since he first asked the question

Honda does make a maxi. It's the Silverwing
