    Re: cornering problem

Springs are usually separate, at least that's my experience for cars.

4 years and 20,000 K's later, I'm still scootering, and you guys are stuck with me!

Motorcycle shock's usually come as a complete unit with the new springs in place

I wish I could add something useful for you, but I have the same issue with my Majesty. All I could do as set the rear suspention to its hardest setting. This helped a lot, but it still bounces around a bit still coming out of a corner, especially a roundabout.

    Re: cornering problem

Hi I am new here used to ride a scooter not now.

    Handling problems

1/ Check tyre pressure and condition of tyres ( front & rear )

2/ check worn swing arm assembly

3/ Many  scooters & bikes have shock absorbers that are poor/ often the dampening is substandard. Just increasing the spring pre load is not a remedy.

4/ Also check front suspension and steering bearings while at it.

Take it to specialist and get them to have a look it will cost but will improve your comfort and safety immensely. You could also ring Ikon suspension ( I don't work for them ) They may have a quality change over unit.

    regards, marx

I'd suggest taking the scoot to your local scooter dealer or whoever services it and ask them to take it for a test ride. They ride lots of scooters - good and bad. Maybe also get them to follow you through a set of bends that you know cause the bouncing and then see what they think.

    Re: cornering problem

I seem to remember buying a well used spacy some 10yrs ago. I remember it was like riding a pogo stick on uneven surfaces. I wasn't in love with it it enough to sort it out so I sold it for a nice profit, then i loved it.

    Idea

Hi guys↲ ↲ ok but had you of loved it before it put aheap of money in your pocket what would have done to sort it out? And po go stick really is a good way of putting it.Just hopeing its not the swing arm as thats kinda important and not sure my pockets can handle that not for awhile anyway. Cheers

I guess with the benefit of hind sight the spacy was a product of its time. Maxi scooters are now high tech by comparison to the older rockets, you just can't expect too much from them. Sometimes you just have to appreciate them for what they are, and there is a wise quote, "beauty is in the eye of the beer holder".  Everyone has the right to ride what ever they choose, but be careful how much money you pour into to your girl as you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, a spacy will never measure up to a majesty or like. A spacy was born with warts and a pogo stick tendency.
