    Aprilia SRV 850 storage

    Ok OK I did it.

Got the worlds most powerful scooter with the worlds crappiest storage.
I guess they had to put the motor and tank somewhere. It is a wicked ride.

So I bought a top box which arrived in a few days and then took a good look at the scoot to figure out how to attach a luggage rack.
In hindsight it might have been better to have reversed the order.

Not a lot of stuff to attach it to.
Not a lot of people that make luggage racks for it.
Specially anything that can take more than about 3kg or in the order of 50 litres.

So the journey of how to attach this puppy begins.

I did find this picture that looks like what I want.
Would apprechiate it if anyone recognises what the racking kit might be. It looks like something from Givi since it does have their boxes on it.
I haven't been able to find anything on their website that looks similar. Most of what I have found does not have the support arms underneath.

    Here's the pic.

I had a scooter supplied with the top box attached to the saddle. Dont know what the Aprilia dealer was thinking when there was an engineered frame available .....

That top box looks identical to the OEM Piaggio Beverly box. So that could be a Piaggio kit. The box anyway, don't know about those panniers.

    Marv!

I'm fairly sure the kit you are looking for is a "TE6703" as indicated on the Givi European site?

They are not cheap?  Then again, nor was your scoot! Hope this helpsWink

    Re: Aprilia SRV 850 storage

    Thanks everyone

I'm coming to the same conclusion but it's all getting a little confusing.
The best I can work out is the SR6703 is the Beverly kit for the top box including base plate and cover plate for a givi box, and the TE6703 is the pannier kit.

I guess the problem is the European websites tend to mix the two items up badly. Sometimes the call out the TE6703 and call it the topbox kit and other times the revers.

I guess I need to talk to a local dealer that knows their stuff.

Oh yeah this puppy if fun, we are still on our honeymoon getting to know each other. Definitely not a scoot I would recommend for a newbie.

I had a fuoco which the dealer attached to the hand grips, You're right there is a place to attach the topbox kit right under some rubber covers. The result was it was too far forward and you could only put skinny people on the back.

Seems most dealers do not know the mp3 at all.

I wound up having to do my own maintainence because I could not trust the dealers. They kept wanting to change my rotors when they had not worn more than 20%. And $300 to change the oil was stupid. Or should i mention the $2,500 front end rebuild that lasted 6 months. And they were factory trained.

    Hi Guys↲

All i can say is they look hard to ride much harder than a normal scooter.↲

Kind of like a motor cycle with a side car

Nah those things on the side are just panniers like sadlle bags.
It's awefully heavy 250+ kgs, but once moving it's fine.

You do have to get used to the thing wanting to fly and NEVER accelerate before you actually leave your lane when passing. Or you are likely to take your leg off on the rear corner of the car in front of you.

This is what it looks like without all the junk on it.

    Without all the storage stuff

Why do you want to convert a racing machine into a Semi trailer or are you in the removalist business

One small problem, I can't get my helmet under the seat.

The advertising said you can put a full faced helmet under the seat, it didn't say only an XXS one.

Makes perfect sense to have luggage on the beast to me.

Whats the point in a great big tourer with gobs of torque if you can't load her up and split for the weekend or more?
