Burgman 400c to Sym Max 400i

Sadly,  Burgman "09" 400cc (Blackie) is written off by wet weather road by slipped for no reason and smashed up ! Luckly I am ok and just brusied bit on my elbow and back. No bone broken... thank god!  Been riding this bike for nearly 6 years...  so insurance will cover for the bike... to pay.. (thank god)

So I am thinking of going back to Sym for a nice change.... I really liked Sym Max so I have read some of your forums about it.

I had a good look around the bike shop at Melbourne...  I like three bikes what I saw today...

    Sym Max or Fireanze

    Honda Fozna

So I cant make up my mind.. I like to go back to Burgman but they dont make 400 cc anymore.. but I didnt like the gears sudden or shaken,,, what my bike goes through before. Also I didnt like the look of 200cc now..

So tell me what do you think of Sym Max or others?

Look forward to hear from you all... ps I havent been on this forum so long since I bought SYM HD .  Also excuse me for my grammar and spelling.. !! Dues I am a deaf rider.. and Auslan (Australia Sign Lanuage) ..

The SYM Firenze says it's 300, but it's 278, so shop it against the Forza. The Maxsym 400 is probably the closest replacement to your Burgman 400, as far as size and power go. Honda is a step up in price, and half a step up in quality from the SYM cousins.

4 years and 20,000 K's later, I'm still scootering, and you guys are stuck with me!

Shame about your Burger, but glad your Ok --Surely there are some Burger 400s for sale 2nd hand after all they are definitely the superior machine compared to the others you named --check out Gumtree and Ebay and Bikes Sales

It probably wont taker long for Suzuki to realise the mistake they have made in withdrawing the 400 -after all it is ntheir biggest seller in the States and the 200 is not a satisfactory replacement

    riding for fun

Pyrah! Will you stop talking dirty, re the maxsym600???Angry

Storm69 Welcome to the forum. I suggest you look at the Maxsym 400i this bike is produced in Tiawan by the

largest scooter manufacturer in the world, it is fitted with a Bosch single channel ABS as standard equipment

and comes with a 4 year transferable warranty. The finish is as good as anything on (or recently off) the market

and the importer carries a wide range of spares.Yes

the Firenze is a little underwhelming. Coming off a 400 ( excuse the pun) you will find it a little gutless.Devil

IMHO. I believe the maxsym 400i is the best value for money on the market today. Yes

I've just got to stop Pyrah teasing me with talk of the 600?Devil

    Cheers Rev

Current ride Maxsym 400i. Suzuki Boulevard C50. BMW F650 GS. BMW R1200GS. Gone but not forgotten BMW K1200R. sold. plus a heap of boxes that have added up to some neat and not so neat old motorcycles.

    Scooter rev:
comes with a 4 year transferable warranty.

Is that something they only offer on the Maxsym??   When I bought my HD200 (2nd Hand) the guy mentioned it came with a 4 year warranty however when I queried it with Sym dealer they said it was only for the original owner and any subsequent owners would only get 12 months warranty.

    Cheers

Started out with a Zip 50. Now moving on to a HD 200. Wonder what's next....?? Not wondering any more.... TMAX!!!!!!

    Hi All

just thought I'd add. Had the twelve month service which coincided with the 10000k service done locally

cost was $384.00, another reason why the Maxsym is such good value.

    cheers rev

It will be interesting to see how it compares to your old Burgman,

I have TWO quite large Motorcycles and I commute about 60 ks each day sometimes I leave late just so I miss traffic and can have a quick trip home.

Truth is I make it home just as fast on my 400 Burgman as I can on either of the Bikes plus its twice as comfortable.

I love the Burgman , scooters Rock. !!

Yes I love it too but they dont sell it anymore for 400cc. grrrr!  So I am quite happy with my SYM MaX  so far without a problem..  Just I miss my Burgman underhood for stuffs to store more than my MAX! Sad
