Not a bad looking scooter tonyr. Looks good in white, that's my pick. Shorter, wider, lower, heavier with lower seat height than your current ride it should be a great scooter. Seems that they have lowered the centre of gravity. I can relate totally your now requirements so that nothing takes away from the riding.

What price are they being quoted at in SA ride-away, without trade?

I still flush when I read the swing ticket on the new Vespa 150 Sprint @ $7490.00

Re: Bigger is not always better

Unfortunately, from what I've seen on Downtown demos, the matte white paint is porous and marks easily.

The matte grey seems to hold up better, or at least does a better job disguising any marks or blemishes?

Matte colours do seem to have limitations. If you mark it, when you attempt to buff remove the mark you can end up with a polished gloss result.

Or worse still, a dirty smear... That's the only reason I wouldn't get the matte white after seeing one in a showroom with smudges.

This is such a good thread and Imust agree with Rod. for someone my size the 350 Bev is pretty well it IF I stay in the city.

Like INMA, i don't get Harly riders...all that CC in a land barge for what ??

Aspro Boy - Apparently the the Downtown 350i has gone UP in price to a RRP of $7950 + ORC - they were $7490  when I bought last year (I got one for that price ride-away - however - haggle on that information and you will probably get one at the old price - probably in grey colour.

    Pyra -

Service intervals on the Kymco 350i are 5000Kms - 10,000kms (plug) - 20,000 Kms for a replacement drive belt.

Considering the DT350i launched at $6490+ORC, that's not very flash...

My 350i is matte white - I bought it because I find the alternative dark grey somewhat depressing and visually a danger on the road. At first I too felt that the matte finish might be a problem but in just under a year (9000+kms) I have not found it not to be so at all. The secret? LEAVE IT ALONE! When the odd cleaning occaion arises the following is my solution:- In my garage I keep a 5 litre tub of cheap laundry liquid. A little of the liquid on a damp rag wipes away any smears...... and it's great as an all-round degreaser .....including the hands.

Thanks for the pricing structure; just interested. I would go the XTown also, even though it is down on power. Similar reasons I guess. No grey for me, well not in plastics anyway. Don't mind the grey for Pyrahs SR. When the white version of the little Suzuki Address hit the showroom floor, their sales went up a notch. It looks cheaper in grey. The white one has much much more road presence; I see it coming toward me much earlier. The little grey one gets lost in the urban jungle background.

That sounds like some sage advice, Tony. I'm lucky the gloss perl white on my PCX is very easy to clean, often just using baby wipes.

I like the DT350i in either colour, but the grey does feel a little unsafe given most drivers aversion to noticing anything on two wheels.
