    Re: Hot Rod Scooter

I needed to get the seat recovered and i had already removed the badges so nobody would know it was a Chinese scooter.

So i spent $20 (I went all out and got fineline tape do get  the curves right) and used some cans of paint in the shed and decorated it over the weekend.
Not planning to spend money on it
    BUT........

I could very easily get carried away Big Smile
Looking through the shed, I have a radio aerial and some small speakers and radio face that i might attach somewhere (just for fun)
and some chrome gauge pods (and gauges). and an accelerator and brake pedal

need to decorate the grey thing with the warning lights on it, and want to change the exhaust muffler chrome cover with perforated stainless steel that covers the whole muffler... then add a 2'' chrome exhaust tip

I'm thinking about removing the plastic windscreen,  attaching some bicycle handlebars in its place to add more mirrors.

Can i replace the handle grips ??? Beige ones do not look right.

    BUGGER....
I knew i would start getting carried away Big Smile

Gee Surf, I like some of your thinking...

If surf is your thing, you could put two footprints where U put yr feet. You could make these out of some kind of grip material so they would be practical too.

    RED hand grips might work.

Re exhaust cover, could U remove it and cut some slots into it, maybe a few cm wide, and paint the inside edge of these slots red to match the f;ames?/

Personally I'd KEEP the little screen . I think it really suits it. the shape is retro and so is that 50/60's style racing screen.

     keep us posted ..

    Yep.
EJ, EH Holden badge i had in the shed
Had to gently bend it and drill holes in the front guard to fit.
I might go searching to see what else is buried in the shed
A mate gave me the V8 badge

(I'm going to figure out this posting replies soon ?)

Tassles !!! Embarrassed  Thats what the boss at work suggested also.  Then i could stick a pop stick in the back wheel too. and a sparkly purple seat [:'(]

I was thinking of the big chrome footprint accelerator pedals.  But then i can only get the right foot !? (and that would mean spending money !)

    Re: Hot Rod Scooter

I found my Moon Eyes sticker, so it goes faster

It goes even faster now.  So i go Drag Racing on it

I joined the RED BULL SCOOTER RACING TEAM

Xmas prezzies.... I got an accelerator pedal and a Rat Fink aerial topper. I had some pedal rubbers and an aerial and a mate had a piston

      So i've been playing

    x

Mounted the pedals. fitted the aerial and Rat Fink, then got out the grinder and cut down the windshield a bit.

Then i made up the Rat Rod extra long gear shifter and mounted the piston for a gear stick knob. ( I had to run it up the outside of the front panel... because i've run out of room for my size 13 feet !!!)

Still need to redesign that piddly little exhaust tip and cover

and now i have a radio aerial... i need to install a stereo system

    and paint the wheels

    and add the extra mirrors

    and lights

    and .......

Bugger.. i knew i would get carried away !

The guys at work want to know where i'm going to install an ashtray ???

Ok, so no ashtray, but how about a drink holder? get one from a wrecker, bit of work, and bingo!

    Just a thought....

It's looking good. How about a nice big fog lamp on one side of the front panels? Would make it look a bit more aggressive, and being off-centre would give it a rakish look.
