Yep, checked out Yamaha Aus. site yesterday. New site profile. Missing now from their line-up is the little BWS 125. Was also reading, separately,  a ride review of the latest Honda SH 300. Although sterile to look at (his words), outstanding machine was the claim. Battle on 300s - and the winner will be - the consumer.

If it is around this price it will be very, very competitive against the Kymco & Sym scoots, will be eagerly watching this one.

Gee, this could  make the Bev look ordinary re price......

Not keen on those weird "spats'' on the front forks.

I read the specs on this thing...man, it's hi -tech!

The  Honda SH 300 used to be the most popular scooter in Italy, maybe still is.

The defunct T&G magazine used to publish them sort of results Sad

Thanks for posting this excellent vid, Ferr. The scoot looks good .

Guy keeps stressing how much he as a biker is impressed with the scooter.

maybe this is the way for more scooter sales? Impress bikers that a scoot is easier , safer, better storage and just as much fun if not more so.

    Won't change 'image' Martin.
Also, while the scoots have some very impressive equipment levels, for similar dollars you can buy some pretty impressive motorcycles.

Literally every scooter review in a motorcycle publication: "I always thought scooters were for sheilas, wogs and fairies, but after a week on the Yamonda SC350 I'm eating humble pie.  Carrying my wife, her mum and a mini-fridge on the back, I did the morning commute, jumped a school bus, got on the cover of Vogue and set the lap record at Phillip Island, all on only 2l/100km of unleaded!  Factor in the sharp pricing and you would have to be literally brain-dead to buy anything else."

Next issue: "Top 10 bikes for people who commute while carrying fridges (no scooters allowed!)"

    Then: Daelim S1 125
    Now: Honda PCX 150

Well in 2015 the SH300 was number 9 in the European bike sales ( only 6281agreed not like the 13,000 of old) yes beaten by its 150 brother ( 8754) but there were no other 300 scooters on the list. Hmm

Maybe the Xmax will be better. Of course it has to be realized that in Europe they are used primarily as urban transport.

Think in UK/EU it will be the 125 model as the 150 would require the next level up licence which also covers the 300  Big Smile

The AM category is a moped-only licence, which you can hold from the age of 16.

An A1 licence is open to 17-year-olds upwards and restricts riders to 125cc, without L-plates.

The A2 licence restricts you to motorcycles of up to 35kW (47bhp), and you must take your test on a bike of more than 20kW (27bhp). This is open to 19-year-olds and older.

The A licence is a full motorcycle licence, available only for those aged 24 and over.
