    Hi ho

There didn't seem to be an "introduce yourself" forum, but most scooter fora do ask that one introduces oneself... So, here goes. My name's Chris. I used to ride a nice black Aprilia SportCity 200, but after being bitten by the country road bug, decided to upgrade. I've moved on to a Piaggio X8 400ie - which is quite a nice scoot - so long as the road isn't too bumpy. In my non-scooter life, I work in IT - though I am migrating from my present highly-technical career path to something more architectural in focus - everyone needs a change :-) Aside from all of that, my chief addictions are music (the listening to and seeing of, not playing, alas), philosophy, reading (heavy on decent scifi, authors like A. S. Byatt, science history + philosophy). My plan for this year includes a ride down to and around Tas, and later in the year spending 6 weeks or so riding about Ireland and the UK. I'm really looking forward to the latter - so many friends to visit that I've not seen in a while, and it will be nice to be able to spend time back in the 'homeland', drinking cider and whatnot :) So... hi everyone :-)

Welcome to Scooter Community Chris,   sadly I know what you mean when you say "so long as the road isn't too bumpy",  I currently ride a scoot with 10" wheels and after my previous scoot with 12" wheels I really notice how bad Sydney's roads are.

Only if it's followed by another ho (?)

Welcome Chris and happy trails. Hope your long distance riding experiences are better than mine.

You've clocked on to a very interesting, diverse and entertaining group of people. Knowledgeable too.

    Re: Hi ho

    Welcome Chris

Like your choice of scoot - got my licence on a X8 400 and enjoyed every moment.

I have not been here long but have found these guys to be a nice, painless bunch with heaps of knowledge on scooters.  If they do not already know it, one of them can usually find it Geeked

Look forward to "seeing" you around.

Wife first, scooters and birds second.
    Got to remember that order......

The 125cc Bug Agility is rather ill, may be terminal so onto the Mighty Mio 100!
