I use a disk lock and a Python adjustable locking cable that I wrap around a post or similar for the Mighty Mio. I am concerned that because it is so light someone would be able to move it with little effort. With the lock under the seat and steering lock on you can only hope to deter them.

With more room in the Honda I carry a Kyrptonite lock.

My husband is a stickler for things being insured, made sure I had the Mighty Mio and Honda insured before I picked them up

He sees it as a necessary expense these days.

yeh good luck mate I hope it goes OK and you get it back so you can salvage some funds. Somebody must have seen you break down , Like what are they going to do next? They either know how to dispose or need the parts or are just plain stupid. If its not for parts its got to show up somewhere you would think

    Re: Scooter Stolen

I put up a sign where it was taken, another at the local shop. Put ads in the Quokka & Autotrader, emailed Vmoto dealers as well as bike shops in the area & the distributer. Put notices up on a couple of forums. I don't know what else I can do. Unfortunately my drivers license, house keys & scooter jacket went with the scooter so I'm also waiting on a locksmith to change the locks for me.

I think I need to catch up on sleep now - my grey muscle has been working overtime thinking about this depriving me of sleep.

Scootanut sounds like you have got everything covered with e-mails, posters and ads.

Hope the police recover the scoot and your belongings soon so you can rest a little easier.

    Cheers:)

    Re: Scooter Stolen

Sorry to read your scooter was stolen by some lowlife who doesn't really deserve to breath the same air we do.
I hope you find your scooter back or at least will be able to purchase a new one.

Cheez, I'm annoyed. There are 2 types of people I dislike... liars and thieves.

Some people will steal anything, valuable or not, working or not, and its just pathetic.  They should have tried to help you, not steal your ride.

    Any progress with the police?

    Re: Scooter Stolen

Not yet. I sent a message via the contact form on their website tentatively asking about progress & whether they would call with updates or only contact me if they actually had made progress.

I hate it but I'm swinging between being sooky/dejected & absolutely furious. If the police find out who did this & they damage the bike I want to sue them for damages and for having to have all the house locks replaced.

I'm going to drive around to where the signs were placed to see if they're still there.

I've never done anything like this to anyone else, how can someone do this to others? I can't understand the mentality.

    Re: Scooter Stolen

I too cannot understand why someone would steal.  I am sure they would not like it if their possessions were stolen from them!

I recommend not to get mad - start plotting a path of revenge if they do find out who it is Devil

Wife first, scooters and birds second.
    Got to remember that order......

The 125cc Bug Agility is rather ill, may be terminal so onto the Mighty Mio 100!

Wouldn't it be cool to get some really bad *** bikies from the Black Ulans, or Hells Angels, and get them on a few dozen scooters to rock up to the perpetrators house, all revving their 50cc 2 stroke engines, then get them off the scoots, and break some bones.

    Good Luck with your progress.
