But I am sure she would miss her buddy Steve@Ace Wink

She would have to find someone else to help with her SOCD!

Wife first, scooters and birds second.
    Got to remember that order......

We'd be holding a wake if that occurs. Sad  It was bad enough when Chris Judd deserted us, now possibly Scootanut too.   And to cap it all, beaten by the Dockers.

I'm going back to bed. Crying

Yeah - well at least Carlton lost, I can't disagree with you there Daks.  Kids these days just don't understand loyalty any more. As one commentator said, it looks like Juddy might be adding a spoon to his trophy collection.  Hehehehe!

But what's with all you east coasters (or is it just Victorians?) hating the Eagles so much?  I mean, there is nothing that anyone in the Eagles has done that a member of some other team (AFL or League) has done too. Is it just Tall Poppy syndrome?

A Scooternut's impression of Melbourne. Vespas (GT200, GTS250ie, PX200, LXs & atleast one classic) were certainly the most popular choice with Chinese made 125s making up the majority of the rest -

And another. there are some more but I don't want to flood the board with my SOCD photos of Melbourne so you'll just have to go to my Flickr site - http://www.flickr.com/photos/wanda2000/?saved=1

One more. I got the giggles every time I saw this scooter parked here as I loved the gall of the rider parking it on a busy corner

Definitely! I think I'll have to make it a regular thing, the first week of April every year in Melbourne.

LOL thanks. I've got some editing to do of some of the pics. I just wanted to get them online then worry about the rest later, maybe not tonight probably the weekend at this rate as I still have to unpack my severely overstuffed suitcase yet! I'm glad I decided to pack very light heading there with only half a suitcase of clothing. I think next year I'll plan on taking two so I can hit the factory outlets really hard ;)

Did you ride while you were here?? If so how'd you go with the tram tracks?

    Hi Piker

I had a serious itch to go for a scoot seeing all of the scooters & motorbikes around but didn't feel confident about the tram tracks & didn't have time.

Others in this forum have described riding over the tram tracks, trying to ride over them at a 90 degree angle, which I think would be the safest bet. I've heard of scooter wheels getting stuck in the gap between the tracks & bitumen but it is only small & so shouldn't happen if you stick to the 90 degree rule. Most riders that I saw stuck to the lefthand side of the road, using the pushbike lane where necessary to get around busy traffic. I think if you stick left, indicate right & turn to cross the tracks you should be about right.

When you go in to hire the scooter ask the people about riding techniques to deal with traffic conditions & the tracks as well as local road rules & you shouldn't go wrong. Just keep it slow & steady for a while until you build up confidence.

Southbank looks to be a good place to gain confidence as it's fairly open & there wasn't much traffic around when we were there. There are also plenty of cafes along the river if you feel the need to stop for a coffee to settle the nerves.
