Looks wicked!  Not sure we have much opportunity for descenting over here, but it's certainly pushing boundaries.

100cc under 40kg. That would seriously outdo my Mongoose Mountain Bike!!
This Derbi would take mountain-biking to the next level. Do you reckon its road registerable? Are these coming here?

At the moment its a concept, if it becomes a production item we would be putting our hands up.

You know I think that starting with the desires and needs of the youngest riders, it is able to offer them another escape from the labyrinth of emotions, taking with them the most advanced trends of the moment.

    Probably. Big Smile

Marketing speak for lust Steve. Sort of like your "once you have drunk from the cup of Vespa" line a while ago, but cool Wink

"An air monoshock rear suspension comes with a precharge regulation using extendible bars, anchored using a cantilever system and supported by inferior flexion springs"

I think they need a new English translator Wink

    Otherwise, yeah, looks pretty cool.

Yeah - doncha just love marketing blurb!  You kind of read it without registering it, but when you properly read it you realise that its just total nonsense.  I think that its designed around words that register almost subliminally in a positive way.  It was the bit about emotions that really cracked me up!!  But read the twaddle for the Vespa S - its fairly similar.  Might have been the same team that wrote it.  And of course if you add the translation into the equation too, you've got plenty of room for merriment.

So here's the challenge.  Lets see who can write the best marketing blurb for a scooter - lets make it one that's not available in Australia to keep it fair (and we can't be accused of bias).  How about the new Lambretta?  We'll provide a pair of Corazzo gloves for the winner - of their choice.  Closing date the end of May.  I'll perhaps post in a separate thread too so that we can get more entrants.

Under the seat. There is something about a carbon fibre silencer in there as well.

    Re: Something a little different

Its definately more bike than motor bike, whereas the Madass is more motorbike. I like the auto transmission that the Derbi offers (it would have been good to see Sachs offer auto in their 125cc, cause their 50cc is too sluggish).

But with the power to weight ration - this thing could be the fastest accelerator on the block? Sure beats the 'ol whipper-snipper motor bolted on.

That's 205 kW/tonne which is too powerful for the LAMS (150kW/tonne limit) around the country. Devil
