    VMOTO Milan JX 50 Review

Firstly I have done over 9000km on this bike so I feel I have got to know it pretty well. I'll say right of the bat that my main problem with this scooter is that it is unreliable and I have had several breakdowns resulting in an unrideable bike and trips to the workshop. Aside from regular services (which should be minimal for a 50cc two stroke) repairs have cost me around $700 which is totally unacceptable. I also have difficulties with the poor build quality eg plastic bits breaking/falling off and despite me pointing out problems at the vmoto workshop they were not fixed ... just patched up showing bad after-sales service. The main vmoto workshop here in Perth also closed and I was referred to another dealer who is little short of a crook (but that is local stuff not directly related to the scooter itself).

Comfort - fine and the bike feels sturdy enough on the road.

Braking - noisy but effective enough.

Speed - I have no problems with scooters pick-up and overall power which is fine for 60km/h and some 70km/h roads. Can be fun to ride.

Fuel Economy - poor. About 5L/100km (I am heavy so obviously I contribute a bit here). However, this is still poor and not much better that some small cars with much bigger engines and weights to pull. I ride  decent distance too and from work each day and I find I have to fuel up nearly every day which is a pain in the ***.

Space - space in seat is a bit small only fitting a tiny faceless helmet.

Lights - barely bright enough at night.

Dials etc - seem to allow water into them and then steam up making them hard to read.

I am afraid I can only give this bike 1/5 due to the high frustration levels I have felt over the break down issues. I am getting rid of it as soon as it comes back from the workshop and would not recommend vmoto to any scooter purchaser.

Sad but true. I had similar problems with my Vmoto Montego. I would recommend you perhaps get your license & go for a Piaggio Fly 125. This scooter was a breath of fresh air after the frustrations of the Montego! Or atleast go speak with Steve@Ace in Joondalup, he has some good quality 50cc scooters which will help you love your ride so much you'll want to sleep on the thing!

If you're looking to cut your losses & replace the Milan go for a known brand like Piaggio, Yamaha, Vespa, Aprillia... even Bolwell. The Jolie is an awesome little scooter. :)

Out of curiousity which dealer were you put onto? I had dealings with Rick Gill and In City but the best thing that happened was the damn thing was stolen! I hope it's giving the theives all the grief it gave me! Devil

Today 50 (traded in at 2,500km), Montego (stolen), Fly (sold at 2,500km), Le Grande (sold at 7,000km), Vespa PX (sold at 200km), Vespa GTS250ie (28,000km & still loving it!)
