    VS 125 1st Service - ISSUE!

Hi All, haven't been on this new website but some of you may remember me from the old one!! Hardly been using my VS 125 as I've been unwell but finally took it for it's 1st service (only 250k's but had it for 10 months) - felt that it should have the oil changed etc having sat around 4 sooo long..anyway took it in & had a phonecall to say that it has a 'bent brake shaft' (I think they said) no worries re warranty but I just felt a bit worried in as much as well.....god, would this have been a problem during manufacture..feel like I've lost a bit of faith in the quality of the product in a way. Had my Liberty B4 which started like a dream (the VS is fussy even on warm summer days and kept in a garage - got sick of kick starting it!) and now this any thoughts anyone, or am I just being silly?

Dont lose faith in the Sym brand, I think its just unlucky. Its good that they picked it up so early in the scooters road life.

I hope you are well, and yes, still remember you. You're Daughter was always hanging it on you for chatting with the scooter buddies yeah?

Yep PinWin, she's a little ripper. Very happy with it, and adding to the look a little with some bits.

The VS is a different bike once it gets some K's on it. Don't worry, you've got one of, if not the best scooter in it's class. We have found the motors in the VS's to be fairly tight from new, hence the slow idle or temperamental start, but with a thousand K's on them, they are completely different. I like to think they wear in, rather than wear out...

Good to have you back Pinwin.

This is why manufacturers have a warranty look at it from a different perspective. The dealer picked a problem that you hadn't noticed fixed it for you and it cost you nothing. I see this as the dealer providing you with great service & being a SYM bet the part didn't take long to get there either.

Should give you more faith in the scoot & your dealer.
