    Re: The Snowy Scooter Contingent

I saw the postie bike ride a couple of years ago as they traved through north central NSW or South Central queensland. They were so slow, top speed of about 80ks. About 60 of them was quite amusing to watch.

My Avitar is a borrower Peugeot moped built in the early 60's I think. It was on show at an all french vehicle display

Aprila cube is fine for me presently.

Re: The Snowy Scooter Contingent 2011

Its on again folks. The Snowy Scooter Contingent is planning another run to Thredbo this year, plus the possibility of an extra couple of days on the Victorian Alps. This is one of the great rides across the Bogong High Plains and not to be missed. No excuses this year Dozer. We'll be riding from Sydney to Bega on the Thursday 3/11/11, Bega to Thredbo on Friday, The Snowy Mountains on Saturday, Bright on Sunday, Omeo loop Monday and back to Sydney Tuesday. Book your leave soon.

Re: The Snowy Scooter Contingent 2011

The Bogong High Plains road (currently shut with snow) usually gets opened mid October. Its another year older than when Pete and the team rode it, so it'll be more settled with the gravel that they put on it when it was sealed for the first time last year. The plateu from Strawberry Saddle to Falls Creek Ski Resort is simply superb. Theres a real 'top-of-the-world' feel to it, especially if you get it in top weather. Theres a blue sky at that altitude that cannot be matched anywhere else, its so deep!

I'll put in for my leave pass this week Pete, and let you all know if I'll make the trip.

    DOZER.
