    Vmoto Milan parts

As an old boy scout lol I like to be prepared, and also to do the odd self service. I've got drive belt sizes etc for the monza from posts here, but it seems to me that the Milan engine has more in common with the Yamaha Jog.

wwww.gpsimports.com.au has stacks of parts for Jogs. I am looking at buying a drive belt and head gasket for a self service, amI right that Jog parts should fit ok?

its funny though, I thought that they were a copy of a yamaha until somebody pointed it out.

By the way, if anyone can answer this: what is a gy6 engine? is it just a common

engine used by alot of chinese manufactorers?

Maybe shoot Brendo at Scooter HQ a PM just to check your model as I think from previous posts he has differentiated two models of the Milan. i.e two separate year ranges

The GY6 engine is used across numerous scooters, you are right in thinking that this is a very commonly used motor .

You have to be carefull when trying to fit parts from other brands of scooter. Although they look the same I've found some engine internals change between brands such as piston pins, pistons, transmission pullies, belts and rollers that end up being the wrong parts when you try to install them.

There is a few differences in the cranks and the pistons

you have a 13 and a 16mm crank with different tapers as well

You also have a 12mm and a 10mm gudgeon pin

I would think yiu will have the 16mm crank with the large taper and the 12mm gudgeon pin

OK, thanks guys, it's a 2004 milan...I think from what I have read I have the 12mm gudgeon in that year, that means it will be closer to the Jog than the previous model, yeah?
