Gotta Get Out There! Gotta Scoot!

But to where? I'm running out of ideas. Have hit Fremantle far too many times in the past couple of months... but I have to admit that there aren't many other places that I enjoy riding to & around as much as Freo...

    Suggestions?

I don't know Perth all that well but I reckon a scooter run across the Nullarbor would be just the thing... especially on a 50cc :)

I haven't ridden for 2 weeks, and the ride to the servo, and the shops, was like being back on it for the first time again.  I took the long route to the servo.

I am stuck on ideas as to where to go today too.  It's a little overcast, little windy, and expecting showers out there, but that wont be stopping me.

Back to work tomorrow after a month off and I'm heading out for my last scoot before work. I'm planning a bit of a country trip to the Hume Lake, then into the valley. Gonna take a swim in the Kiewa river and return to iron my fricken work uniform. Mrs Dozer isn't coming cos she out with her mum, so it's a good oportonity to go. I'm waiting for Tubsta to get back to me for a trip up to Falls Creek Ski Resort one weekend to test his skills on the new MP3 400. Can't wait for that one. Plenty of great rides here in the border.

I ended up taking the river run to Freo where I stopped for a coffee and laughed at a group from the Ulysses try & fit all of their bikes into the parking area, watching one of them put his 250cc MP3 up on the stand (why??) & the group making a point of not looking at the "bloody scooter"!

From there I continued on to Rockingham where I stopped, parking the scooter on the footpath because a car had parked over the m/c bays, for an icecream at one of the specialist Italian icecream places. Yum! I then continued on to Point Peron & could have kicked myself for not thinking to pack my snorkelling gear as there was a perfect beach entry point & a nice reef with reasonably deep water. Then back to Freo where I collapsed under a shady tree near the beach for a while before the final run home.

The cagers were surprisingly well behaved! Well except for one old codger in Rockingham who pulled out infront of me at an intersection without looking to his right but I was well prepared & gave him a "wake up" toot. Nothing too aggressive.

Wish I'd thought to set the trip thingo on the scoot before heading out. My body tells me it was a long run though, which probably has as much to do with the heat as distance travelled. according to Whereis it looked to be a round trip of more than 140km so not too far.

    Time to collapse.

I'm still learning so today's ride for me was quite a long one - had a blast though. Left home and rode to Wiseman's Ferry Pub for lunch. Nice Pub, friendlt staff and a couple singing as well. From there we travelled towards Mangrove Mountain and back towards Sydney via Pie in the Sky. Stopped there for an Iced Chocolate before heading home via the Berowra Ferry - long ride (for me at least) about 220k's and lots of twists and turns to practice on. Only one incident from a car driver that didn't look so all is good. Knackered now though!!

Definitely. There are a few people who have done exactly that.

I'm hankering for a run out to Wave Rock &/or down around the South West, maybe make a week of it, if it happens it probably won't be until Spring next... oh hang on it's "next year" now. Now I just need to decide if it's going to be a group or solo run. I enjoy the group runs but it was SO GOOD to get out there just on my own today. It's been a while.

How about a community meet halfway? Somewhere in the middle? I'm sure a few of us eaterners would be keen. Spring would be good.

Having spent most of my childhood down that way, I would think that the Port Kennedy/Warnbro area would be nice.. Lot of windy roads, small gentle hills..  And some great beaches!! If you dont mind big grey fish...
