Suggestions on which brand; Aprilia, SYM, Daelim, TGB or Vmoto?

Hello to the scooter world out there,

I am new to this site and very new to the scooter world. I have been doing alot of research on different scooters and read a number of reviews on many varied models on the market.

I am ready to buy my very first one and I am thinking either a 125 or 150cc is the way to go. I also am thinking price point between $3,00 - $4,000... I would imagine generally speaking I would be riding just shorter distances to and from work (10km's each way) and as I get more confident maybe a little trip here and there.. .Maybe even trips along the Great Ocean Rd (when I feel confident that I wont drive into the ocean) ... though I think the trips along the Great Ocean Road would be amazing and since I live near by I should probably do it eventually, dont we think?

Still, one step at a time eh? ...

Anyways, I am curious as to what your thoughts are on the following scooters (if you have knowledge on them or own one of these yourselves)..

    1. Aprilia Sportcity One 125

    2. SYM Orbit 125

    3. SYM VS 125

    4. Daelim Si Neo Forte

    5. TGM 303RS 125 or 150 (though dont know what the difference is apart from the price)

     6. Vmoto, Monte Carlo 150

Thanks all for reading and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers all.

Know them well, I'd rank them

    1. Daelim S1
    2. Aprilia Sportcity One
    3. SYM VS125
    4. TGB 303 150 (Difference is oil cooler & grunt, go the 150)
    5. Vmoto Monte Carlo
    6. SYM Orbit

Don't forget Piaggio Fly/Derbi Boulevard (effectively the same thing) & Yamaha Cygnus X. Technically the S1 is the winner hands down & is also the fastest, especially since most others have had recent prise rises it represents very good value for money. Must say the Sportcity One is the most fun. If you can afford the top 4 on the list, drop the bottom two as they aren't in the same class.

    Don't forget to ride them

    Gday ScooterMike,

I am new to this site too.  Obviously I am biased towards the Daelim S1.  I was like you and test rode a few scooters.  Most in the 125cc range and 150cc.  Without mentioning names, all the scooters were OK and did what they are designed to do.  One felt better in regards to torque all over the rev range, build, features, price and fun.  Most of all, I liked it and it fit me perfectly. S1 seat height is a bit lower and my great hob nailed boots can touch the ground flat footed(must!!!) & it took my full face helmet under the mightily padded up cruise cushion lounge they call a seat, lol.

As for the Great Ocean Road, that is simply a must.    Scooter would be awesome to do it on.  In fact, when you do, give me notice and when I ride to Ben Boyd to fish, I will carry on to Victoria, which is only just down the road.  Ha ha, you won't ride into the ocean, just take your time and plod along.

Good helmet, cow leathers/boots & gloves with armour and your set.

Good luck and let us know your decision?

    Peter

    Hahahaha!

The large bang that you heard was Brendon's jaw hitting the floor.
