    SCOOTERLIFE SERVICING NIGHT

Scooterlife Australia in conjuction with Scooteroo Rider Club are going to host their annual scooter servicing workshop evening shortly. Scooterlife are the leaders in scooter servicing providing the highest quality servicing to Brisbane, Gold Coast and South East Queensland scooter riders. With nearly 20 years experience in the scooter industry there are not many other workshops in Australia with the same level of knowledge or diagostic ability especially now-a-days that the humble scooter has become highly developed with various computers, electronics and sensors.

This servicing night is designed to help everyday scooter riders understand what the basics of scooter servicing are including transmission service (which alot of so-called scooter service centres ignore), tyre puncture repairs, checking vital fluids, etc. The mighty PX200 will also get a looking at this year as we show some little industry tricks of the trade for this old world scooter. We will also delve into the high tech and explain computer diagnostic checking. Servicing has never been more important than now with difficult financial times the world is experiencing. Good servicing is vital to keep operating costs down to the minimum and avoiding unnecessary repairs caused from a lack of maintenence or "cheap" servicing. Don't forget regular servicing is vital to maintain your new vehicle warranty.

JT operating the Piaggio Diagnostic system used for all Italian fuel-injected scooters e.g. Aprilia, Vespa, Piaggio and Gilera. Does your mechanic have one of these?

The inside of a Trasmission - we explain operation and necessary servicing requirements

Joe explaining how to plug a tyre

If you get a flat and you are miles from nowhere - this is your solution - Tyre plugs

This event was a great success last year with nearly 40 people attending. We will be setting a date shortly and have been receiving strong feedback through Scooteroo Riders Club that their members are keen to come back and learn more to help their scooter perform to its best. Cost for the evening is $20 including pizza from"Vespa" Pizza, one of Brisbane's best pizza cafes, softdrinks and coffee.

All scooter riders on all brands welcome!

This was a popular event last year indeed and we are very excited to be invited back again for some more insight into the mechanics of scooters. Scooteroo would love to see anyone who is interested in learning more about basic maintenance to come along and meet up with other riders in and around SEQ..

Shel & I enjoyed the last one.  Heaps of info for anyone wanting to learn about servicing their own scoot(s), & learning about DIY puncture repair was a real goodun.....can't always rely on RACQ or mobile phones.

    Hi Justin

We've talked about trying to organise such on a Saturday morning once a month or every couple of months.  Probably have one session for 2-strokes and one for four strokes - but its still in the planning stages Sad  But this reminds me to get my fingers out...

    Cheers

Reading through your post....computers, electronics and sensors....yada,yada,yada ....and then you got to the PX part..... and "hold the phone" ....someone mention PX's?......what, when, where?

    I'm all ears.

My PX is just about up for its 1000km service and you're welcome to use it as the artiste's model for your demonstration (otherwise known as sneaky attempt at  scoring said service for free in the truest tradition of skinflint scooter ownership which harks right back to Vespa's humble post war/ hard times origins).Wink

My PX would very useful for demonstrating to PX owners present how to locate and fix oil leak which has oil running down the back of the engine (it's still under warranty).Smile

Hehehehe Jax Why not ride your scooter over, then everyone in perth can turn up at Steves to talk to the girl who not only talks about surviving the ride she demonstrated it by surviving the longest ride in the Australia. You could probably film it and become famous.

Dont sit back with your coffee and watch, ask the mechanic to show you what he is doing, and explain thins to you as he is doing it.  Get the spanner out of his hand, and get him to advise you

Funny you should indirectly inquire about this................

Last year we ran a lucky door prize and that prize was for your scooter to be the scooter we serviced on the night. Last year the lucky door prize was won by a chap who owed the Silver GTS 250 you can see in the above pictures. He was over the moon as his scooter was serviced for free. We will be doing the same this year, offering the chance for 1 lucky person to win a free scooter service on the night but you have to be there on the night to win it of course!

Last year we ran this event on the Thursday night and we haven't decided which would be the best night to hold the servicing night this year. Does Thursday night suit more people or would a relaxing Friday night be best for everyone? Let us know and we will post a date for this shortly.
