Has anyone bought a Mana 850 or even ridden one?  it looks so good on paper and Id be interested on some feedback from anyone who's ridden one. Was talking to Wayne at Motorino who reckons that the bike riders arn't taking them seriously and they've been aimed at the maxi scooter riders.

    Re: Aprilia Mana.

Ridden and lived with one for a while and I think they are the ducks. Really nice. It does take a buyer that knows he wants it first of all as I think it does have some trouble convincing bike riders.

I would be the oppisite to wayne where I think its been aimed at bike riders and Aussie bike riders dont get the benifits of scooters (dont take that as all)

But it needs to be aimed at the maxi scooter rider I think as these guys get the reason the Mana is alive. Might have to try and get that back I think

    Re: Aprilia Mana.

The bike certainly seems interesting after reading this article:

    http://www.motorcycle.com/manufacturer/aprilia/2009-aprilia-mana-review-88199.html

Didn't realise the engine was sourced from the Gilera GP800...

I would probably consider an 'automatic motobike' if the cost were a bit lower -> towards the $10K mark. I don't need the sportbike performance, cos I'd prefer a manual for that, but for commuting / long distance riding, I can't fault the auto. Yes yes... I know there's scooters, but gear selection would be handy!

    Re: Aprilia Mana.

I have test ridden one a number of times and was about to purchase one in July last year before I got tempted by a Guzzi.

I don't really think any bike riders take them seriously which is a shame because in my opinion they are absolutly supurb.

I have recently been looking at getting one again - as it really suits my commuter and weekend ride needs.

But as mentioned before the price does make them a difficult decision especially when you consider what else is out there for the money. I have heard that the Honda equivalent - the DN01 (or some such) has been discounted heavily - but not really for me. Hopefully some used examples of the Mana will start to find their way to used market shortly.

BTW if anyone has one to sell please PM me.

It seems that it doesn't rock anyones boat. Thats probably one of the reasons that I like it. The biggest problem would probably be parts coz so few have been sold.

Pete, I love the mana also. It's not only auto, rider can shift gears manually too. I like the wet conditions setting to reduce spinout also. I'd consider it, but if I went for a motorcycle, I'd get a guzzi.

The only thing stopping me getting one is the price. And it's really stopped me.

    Sad

I was doing a photoshoot of a Manhattan scooter and the Mana was next door. Im a long way off getting one but Ive been eyeing them off for some time now. I guess trolling the forums is the 1st step, sitting on one is the second step, taking one for a test ride is next if my previous purchases are any indication. Then Ive got to sell the ute, and then wait for a bargain.....As I said I'm a long way off but it sure looks good...but $18,000on road? Thats 2 Vespas.

Yeah, but at least the bike is twice the Vespa as well. Twice the engine size, twice the wheels (ok, stretching it a bit), twice the performance and handling! But I'd go for the GT version, the one with half-fairing:

    white mana gt

Personally I prefer the normal version. In black.
