    Honda SCV100 Lead

    I just rode a mate's SCV100 Lead - compared to the VS, it's a bicycle!

Mrs. Wombat and I went riding together. Never say you know someone until you've been on a motorcycle ride with them. My fault, I was a bit more confident than she was. Scared the poor soul. But back to the Honda.

The engine is a tough little nugget, I'll give it that - won't be as fast as the VS flat out, but comparing a 100 to a  150 isn't a fair fight. It handles better than the VS, but the VS rides better. Drums on both wheels are adequate, but they certainly won't be stopping me faster than my rump can stay seated.

The seat is flat, the footboards are wide, but it's flickable. If I bought one of my own, I'd be changing the mirrors, though.

4 years and 20,000 K's later, I'm still scootering, and you guys are stuck with me!

We  have two Leads. One  for  me  one  for the wife  (kimlizzy).  I originally  bought  our  green  one  so as to learn to ride.  I had  no idea  about  scooters,  but  I did  ride  dirt  bikes  when  i was young.  Saying that the Leads  do  tremendously,  we ride together on weekends,  they  are our daily  commutes and what we  throw at our  little  scoots we know  they  will  get us  thru,  it  might  be  slowly but  they are  damm reliable.

On  whole  if you want a reliable little  (100cc) scooter I  would  recommend  Honda  Leads

P.S  we reguarly  average  33km/L  on  city riding.

P.P.S  I did  change the  mirrors  I  got  red skeleton hand  mirrorsSmile

I didn't know they made green ones, I've only seen black, blue, red and grey

Solid scoot with a few limitations, speed being one of them. But like you say it's a Honda and will go on and on forever.

The Dio110 is in another league compared to the Lead.

plus the  price as well.   I bought the  green  Lead  for  just  under $1900 brand  new (discounted  from  $2450).  Don't  think  I  could  have got another  scooter  for that priceBig Smile.  When  my  friend  decided  to  go  a bit larger  I  bought  his  red one at the trade in price.

I must admit I do sometimes miss my old lead. Life was.much simpler then. No speeding fines, $40 tyres, just slow and steady. The thing did 30000 KS with sowing machine precision. My new Spanish/Italian is far too precocious

I think that  is why  we  bought  the  Lead,  a  simple  rugged  machine with  Honda  reliability.
