    Protective products?

Hey guys, first time scooter owner here. Just purchased a brand new little tgb 101s (loving it, filled the tank and love it more) Just had a few queries..

First is oils.. Any recommendations on a quality oil at a reasonable price that i can buy for cheaper by 5, 10 or 20 litre bottles?

Secondly, i am stoked i can keep my scooter in the garage with my wife's car at home, but is there any known brands or products to clean and protect the plastic from the harsh qld sun?

I had forgotten all about the running in period, first 1000 k's is gonna be brutal without opening it right up for extended periods. Any advice on de restricting? When to do this, pros and cons..

Hey Kingo I don't know much about these scoots but I just 'googled' your scooter & there's a lot of info including 'oils change' that could help you.

Ha awesome gaz, as i said i am a new scooter owner, and had been doing the same with google. I have only found a handful of recommendations on waxes for the plastics from another forum. Do you ride a 2 stroke? Which oiled do you use?

Generally, most scooters don't NEED the motorcycle specific JASO MA/MB standard oil - the clutch doesn't get anywhere near the oil (as I understand it).

Good quality Car oil of the right weight (something W something, check your owner's manual) and the right grade or higher (SG is probably not good enough, the further down the alphabet the better).

4 years and 20,000 K's later, I'm still scootering, and you guys are stuck with me!

Believe the TGB 101s is a 50cc two stroke so above post not applicable to original question .  Good post on oils for four strokes here though if I'm wrong click Big Smile

gaz, thanks for the info mate- but already tried this guy and he has closed shop. The dealer i bought from is not keen to do the work either, however i have found a guy 'freedom on two wheels' who has stated he will do the work if i can supply parts.

So now wondering on what mods exactly i should be doing? Crazy busy at work so would be good to get it all done in one go. Not interested in a 70 cc kit and from what I can find on other forums etc is

    unrestricted cdi

    sports exhaust

    new rollers/sliders for variator ?

Changing these should get me another 10k/hr top end? Anyone have experience with these 'mods' on a 50?

    Re: Protective products?

So i have taken the scoot in for its first 500 k service. Mechanic tells me they already take out the spacer in the transmission and the cdi is not restricted. Seems there is no upgrades i can do to get that 65 -70 k top speed i was after, without engine work like a big bore kit etc.. Anyone that can confirm this?

Would probably try a performance exhaust and rejeting of carburettor in the first instance
