Contary to weather predictions ,the weather was fine
although at times some dark clouds did appear There were only 4 of usready to
explore some of the lesser know roads of our Gosford area.
Chris had ridden up from Ulladulla on his beautifully
presented Aprillia 300 and his ability to ride extremely long distances on this
wonderful scooter were a delight to hear
Off into the traffic which seems to get heavier each weekend
and out through East Gosford where we turned off into Springfield
A soccer match was in progress on the East Gosford oval and
soon we were amongst the magnificent tall stately gum trees that abound in the
valley at the rear of this suburb .
Onwards into busy Terrigal drive andthen into Portsmouth Rd
and down past the so called winery which could be presented in a much more
appealing way
Absolutely amazing how you can find cows grazing and
farmlife so closeto the biggest shopping centre on the NSW Central Coast
Across the intersection into Holgate and this is wher mother
nature really shows her glory
If humans want to reduce carbon and carbon is what makes the
trees and plants grow then I say we have got it very wrong Riding through
Holgate into Matcham is like taking a trip into fairyland .
One minute giant tall trees then the road is virtually
encased by the growth and you come back out into rays of sunshine
We detoured up Oak Rd which passes many magnificent homes
but also has the most beautiful display of autumn colours
Several places where the ground was completely covered with
the Red Yellow Brown leaves off the liquid Amber trees
Words could not describe the beauty of the scenery plus the
children climbing on the farm fences and playing in the fallen leaves
Onto Erina Heights then into Kings Rd which runs us down
past the new land releases into the Terrigal Valley
Taffic again as we rode up onto the Scenic Hghy which
divides North Avoca from Terrigal and the a very sharp turn into Ash Rd for our
ride down into Terrigal proper
Chris who hadn't been to Terrigal for a long time was amazed
at the development that is going on
We found a parking space outside a couple of cafes .not on
the beachfront but one street back and there we chatted for a period before
setting off home
Not a long ride and probably the most extended route you
could get from Gosford to Terrigal but the chance to see streets
etc you would normally not travel
Hopefully Chris has a dry run back to the south and that
maybe sometime in the future we will ride with him again
Mothers day on the Sunday so a good time to stay off the
roads .
