    New Vespa GTS Range

I see the new Vespa GTS 300 has acquired weight, now posted at 160kg. Could that be right? I see also that they could have resolved their side stand issues with electric cut-out when deployed. That's how it reads. The weight of the GTS 150 4V is in line with the Honda SH 150 if you consider ABS and 4V as opposed to 2 valve motor. Assumes 140kg is correct for the GTS. KW output is comparible.

Think old GTS 300 was 156 kg and old GTS 150 was 140 kg without abs but looks like the 150s fuel tank dropped down to 7 ltr

Always believed the GTS 300 was 148kg. But that might have been the dry weight that was always attractively promoted. ?

Swung past Racecourse Motors at Randwick on my outbound bicycle journey today. They had a packed showroom floor. Standing, prominently, amidst the many units was a Euro 4 matte yellow Vespa GTS 300. So they're rolling in.

My, those guys( racecourse) do move a lot of stock. Fearless prediction, their sales of the B I G Guzzis will drop off and their sales of Vespa/Piaggio scoots  will rise. Just a feeling.....

I wonder if they will rationalise what the sell? can they really do it with Piaggio, Vespa and Aprilia competing in the same CC range I wonder?

    Re: New Vespa GTS Range

I feel that they have already rationalized to some degree. Their showroom is not huge, so over time they will identify the 'cherries". No more Daelim on the floor for some time now. From the latest sales figures Pyrah posted big Guzzi sales can't fall much further. I think the little Guzzi V7 750111 sales might pick up with a new distributer. I think if you had wanted one of these V7s you would have waited for the latest model knowing they were coming for some time. The other Guzzi dealer at St. Peters had already sold a V7111 Special, my favourite, had ordered another and was unpacking a Stone 111 when I casually cycled past last week.

yes, the Guzzi sales may pick up with the new model. and they have some good "out they go " prices on some others. They do have great stock.

I note on their webbie that they also list the aprilia 5occ scoot. Reckon U order that one in...can't see them flogging many of those.

Imho 50s only in areas that allow them to be ridden on a car licence otherwise a 125/150 ain't any harder to ride

Yep, but I think the Aprilia SR 50R is a specialist/enthusiasts machine. Unlike their other small capacity scoots this is Italian built. I think. I have seen several about over the years that have had additional good money thrown at them. For the young hooligan.

Yes Asps.....I just went back to RCM webbie and I see that the Aprilia 50 is listed with them for the same price as the 125 ( $4k). Reckon that would discourage all but the keenest buyer.

As far as i know all 50s brought into australia are tested to ADRs LA so restricted to 50 km/h . To have them above that they would have to comply to the more rigorous ADRs LC so more money for testing and requiring a motorcycle licence Smile

The SR 50R is not a cheap scooter. I doubt if anyone would pay more than $4k ride away NSW for something restricted to 50kph. Would they? They're out there. I see them in limited numbers, but it is a city thing I guess.
