    Scooter Covers

     Hey All

I am looking at the RJAY Scooter cover.  The lined variety.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Is for the Vespa LX-150 with the top box.

    Cheers

    Aaron

I have an RJAYS large scooter cover for the GT200, and I must say its fantastic, goes over the topcase an everything.

I only use it when I have to park out doors overnite, whih is rare, but still keep it in the glove box.

The RJays covers work well, as do the Oxford brand.

Always get a lined cover- they are bulkier, but they wont scratch your paint work like the unlined variety. RJays do a cover that has a bit that fits over the top box too which makes it an excellent fit.

Be aware that the cover can act as a bit of a sail in open space/windy conditions and can easily blow your scoot over. If using a cover, park the scoot in a wind sheltered area...

I've never used a cover,  but I have thought about buying one.

Would your warning about the possibility of it acting like a sail even apply to a scoot on it's centre stand ?

Some friends of mine bought bbq covers for their scoots. Bunnings $15. It sounds silly, but the covers actually look like they were made for the scooters.

That's amazing,  but being fitted like that it would probably take forever to put on.

    Re: Vespa sprint adventure

I must admit, I quite like the look....I could have one of those sand ones.

Asp, I take yr point about people leaving new machinery parked on the street..

We should start a thread on scooter covers...there are good and points to them.

i wondered why so many folk around here used them: a canny local said that is because with them on U cannot receieve a parking fine as plate is covered and there is no place to put the fine

    Re: Scooter Covers

I use a cover in the garage if not using the bike for a while because of the dust where i live . Have used the $15 ones from the likes of Cheap as Chips satisfactorily but now one of these more substantial $40 ones from Third Gear have had over a year now with no problem . If using one in the street would have to wait for exhaust to cool down to stop the cover melting . Also this $25 blue/white one that is supposed to be heat resistant bottom panel click

    Re: Scooter Covers

That was quick Pyrah. Interesting point MD made about covers and fines, with no rego reference or place to affix an infringement ticket. When I aquired my latest scoot I asked a parking cop about parking requirements: They won't book you, as there is no practical place to secure a ticket, provided you recognize the time zone displayed.

I have a cover for my scoot which I inherited from my last purchse. It's been good. Need to check the brand. I cover the scoot in the garage, but not until it is wiped and cooled.

    So, what's under the cover?
