  • Re: RESTORING FADED LENS

Does it list silicon as an ingredient Martin ?
  • Re: SWM (motorcycles) road test

A new SR500 with electric start and a few personalized changes, would be a good thing. There must be a capacity restriction in other markets that keeps the current SR to less than 400. They were popular in the Japanese domestic market long before they brought them back in, a lot of 'cafe' builder types were importing and Yamaha ...
  • Re: SWM (motorcycles) road test

Gunna, how would U feel about a Royal Enfield? Martin, I love the idea but from the research I've done it's just not realistic.Bit's regularly shaking off, an inability to maintain 110 cruise and the need for 50's style maintenance is not going to work for me, a child of the Japanese reliability era. Luckily Ural don't import ...
  • Re: SWM (motorcycles) road test

I would really like a simple, road oriented single for my forever bike.Light with reasonable clearance and a minimum of for want of a better word 'fluff'. SR's are silly momey for a motorcycle that paid for the dies and machinery 25 years ago, even at modern prices I could be tempted if it had that extra 100cc. I like the look of the ...
  • Re: RESTORING FADED LENS

Yeah, an extra thanks here too, was wondering how I was going to deal with this when the time came. I've heard of people using toothpaste before but I suspect this will be much simpler and more effective. If you can find it in the garage in 6 years it will have gone hard or permanently separated into a liquid and a solid, never to be united ...
  • Re: Buying Used

Insurance companies are starting to take a great deal of interest in the age of tyres lately. Any chance of rejecting a claim is a good one my cynical side suspects.
  • Re: Would you buy a Cezeta?

Love the idea but like most of these type of things it will probably be built with the cheapest of chinese bits stuck together in an irrepairable, economically disastrous hodge podge of poorly matched components. If the Vectrix https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vectrix couldn't make a go of it with what was by all accounts a well sorted and viable ...
  • Re: Random.....

When I joined the Air Cadets we had a khaki/tan coloured uniform it was changed over for the blue one before I left. We wore army greens for anything sweaty or dirty. 23 Flight if I remember correctly, we were based in the old morgue for the ammunitions facility at St Marys.
  • Re: Random.....

Parade Gloss, Air Force Cadet here. Gough apparently removed the .303's so we couldn't hurt ourselves, finally someone was thinking of the children. We had to wait till we were on base before we could play with SLR's and for some reason at one stage we used .22's for target practice. I'm glad I did it when I had the chance, I ...
  • Re: Random.....

Furniture polish is excellent on visors to prevent fogging as well. I use the spray can 'Pledge' on mine, I have no idea if it is any relation to the alchemists bottles above.
