  • Re: Scooter ABS/Dropped Scarabeo

Yeah aspro boy I was looking for feedback from people out there who really ride the Medley. It's I believe one of the best machines in the 150-200cc class but first hand owner experience would be bettet than my opinion.... Apparently not a lot are being sold (at least here in WA) but if you have the chance test ride one that is properly run ...
  • Re: Scooter ABS/Dropped Scarabeo

The Scarabeo has linked brakes not ABS and this is something you need to be aware of when riding: you pull the rear brake handle, but the front brake will work as well. Brake force will be distributed across the two wheels and this needs a bit getting used to it, even for experienced riders. EURO 4 norm requires linked brakes for everything above ...
  • Re: Ace Scooters on the move

Thanks for the update pyrah, much appreciated. Our new shop opens tomorrow Monday 16th Oct in 5/257 Balcatta Rd, Balcatta (our unit is actually facing Wanneroo Rd). Ace Scooters is also on the move with our product range: We have been appointed Kymco dealer and will stock pretty much the full range incl. a wide range of demonstrators. Kymco has ...
  • Re: Upgrading from Piaggio Fly recommendations

Good point about the ESS front suspension, Vespa reverted back to the old one on the '17 E4 GTS300 models, no explanation given. However, it might not play such a big rolein real world conditions anyway as long as you run good tyres (recommend Pirellis as they have a stronger sidewall) and keep an eye on tyre pressure. Indeed a hard choice ...
  • Re: SWM (motorcycles) road test

We have a comparison table on our website between the SR400, a few others & SWM just scroll down a bit: www.acescooters.com.au/swm Also the Yammi is discontinued due to Euro4 regulations. Once dealer stock here in AU is gone that would be it. And that's probably the reason why you can snatch up a bargain... dealers clearing out stock. ...
  • Re: SWM (motorcycles) road test

Hi there Gav It's a Rizoma accessory windshield + headlight fairing adapter, normally fitting on a BMW RnineT. It fits straight on with a few tweaks but is not cheap. However, you might find alternatives if you search for a bit... the headlight is a 7" diameter pretty much ...
  • Re: New Piaggio Medley 150 - What do riders think and how do they compare?

FYI Aprilia support was probably not thay good everywhere in the past because of a different importer and different dealers. Now since late 2016 all Piaggio brands incl Aprilia (and Moto Guzzi for that) are under one roof. This should improve the situation for Aprilia owners. At Ace we always stocked Piaggio, Vespa & Aprilia and have happy ...

Lol... I actually bought a rare BMW R1100R on Gold Coast once and rode it back to Perth via Melbourne. What an awesome trip and definietly worth every cent The trip cost me almost as much as the bike, but I wouldn't want to miss it!  Have fun test riding!!
  • Re: SWM (motorcycles) road test

Hi pja I restored a 1981 XT500 a few years ago and if yiu had an XT600 you would feel very much at home on the Silver Vase. Smaller engine but much lighter and the fuel injection adds loads fo torque. In general a good balance between power and weight I think.  I also owned an XT660 Tenere. Much more bike but also much more expensive (12k + ...
  • Re: SWM (motorcycles) road test

I ride our demonstrator regularly and the suspension is ok on the road or for light off-road work down a gravel road. It's a pretty sturdy built fork overall but a bit soft for my taste like most bikes are (the Superdual is even softer by the way, but has more suspension travel). It's doing a good job for me with the occasional gravel ...
