  • Re: THE APRILIA IS DYING..

There is something very wrong with your engine crankshaft wearing at 25,000 km. Is there a motorcycle mechanic near you who could give a second opinion. Check the motorbike and scooter wrecker searchengines for parts. You might find a replacement engine and get salvage refund on your old engine. With luck you could ride to the wrecker, get the ...

  • Re: Scooter Accident -- Advice Appreciated

The abulance bill should be part of your claim on the other party. The insurance assessor is going to negotiate a settlement for the damages. The assessor will write the scooter off and won't offer repair. The next question is how much and whether you want the wreck. If the scooter is rideable, you may want to take some money and keep the ...

The depth of the rust and whether its rusted on or from the inside will determine how it needs to be managed. If the rust involves heavy damage inside and behind the seam, then specialist repairs might be needed. You don't give enough information to help us give you advice. My first instinct is this is very bad, typically rust on a seam ...

  • Yamaha Zuma 68cc in Melbourne

Its time for me to sell my scooter and all the accompanying spares. A few years ago, I built this scooter for giggles and to take me too and from work on 60 km/hr roads. I've now retired and the Zuma is not getting enough use running to the shops and back. (its a bit noisy at the local shops LOL) So its time for me to sell the ...

  • Re: Poor old Pacific Highway - made safer???

Mike, you probably know this road but someone like me who might use the road once every ten years, those signs are welcome. I travel interstate towing a yacht on a trailer, there is not much I can do when an oncoming vehicle is in the wrong place or one travelling in my direction cuts me off because they make a mistake. Signs like these alert ...

Check whether they put it on the write off register if you take it. You may be able to take the money and repair it. I've had two motorbikes and a scooter written off, each time I lost money, that is with comprehensive insurance. The compensation is never enough to cover those other costs, in the end you take the money and move on.

Remember to claim for helmet, cloths and anything else damaged in the accident. $1400 sounds about right for the scooter if you get the rego back on top of that money.
