This sounds very much like the problem I had when my variator came loose. I didn't have a torque wrench at the time, and tightened the variator nut with an impact driver. Result was I ruined the thread on the end of the crankshaft, and the nut came loose. Had to pull the whole engine apart and replace the crankshaft. Very expensive and ...

Josh, I had the same curved outlet pipe. But I think the straight one looks better, and I would have liked the DBKiller.

Loks like you have the old style curved outlet at the end. That means you don't have the DB-Killer, which I thought was standard now. The Killer makes it a bit quieter, and actually gives a tiny bit more power. It can be fitted as a later mod.

A few members have prioposed the Vespa GTS300 Super. Well if I can nominate one that was announced in 2009, if not actually in production yet, there is the Vespa GTS300 SuperSports. This is a major upgrade - a vinyl sticker on the side saying "Super Sports".
